VolitionRx Publishes Peer-Reviewed Study Demonstrating High-Purity ctDNA Isolation with Capture-Seq Technology

VolitionRx Limited (NYSE American: VNRX) has announced the publication of the first peer-reviewed paper detailing its proprietary Capture-Seq liquid biopsy technology. The study demonstrates the technology's ability to isolate and analyze circulating tumor-derived DNA (ctDNA) with purity exceeding 99%, a significant advancement in the field of liquid biopsy.

The technology addresses a longstanding challenge in liquid biopsy: separating cancer-derived DNA from the large background of healthy cell-free DNA. By achieving high-purity ctDNA datasets, Capture-Seq enhances the sensitivity and specificity of cancer detection and monitoring, potentially leading to earlier diagnosis and better patient outcomes.

According to the company, the published research describes a two-step process that combines physical sample enrichment with bioinformatic filtering to produce sequencing datasets with greater than 99% purity. Early validation studies showed strong cancer detection results, including no false positives in initial cohorts and high detection rates for early-stage cancers. Additional blinded studies have also produced encouraging findings.

VolitionRx is now advancing larger validation studies, working with oncology key opinion leaders, and expanding patent protection for the technology as it explores commercialization opportunities. The company is conducting technical evaluations with potential licensing partners and estimates that the technology addresses annual market opportunities of approximately $23 billion for multi-cancer early detection and more than $13 billion for minimal residual disease applications.

The publication marks a milestone in the application of epigenetics to cancer diagnostics. VolitionRx is a multinational company focused on advancing the science of epigenetics, with the goal of saving lives and improving outcomes for people and animals with life-altering diseases through earlier detection and monitoring. The company's research and development activities are centered in Belgium, with an innovation laboratory and office in the U.S. and an office in London.
