Verizon has announced the availability of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside a new plan called Simplicity Pro that allows customers to get the latest iPhone every year without needing to trade in their device. The move signals a shift in how carriers bundle devices with service, emphasizing simplicity and annual upgrades over complex trade-in requirements.
The iPhone 18 Pro features a redesigned 48MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture, the most advanced camera system Apple has created, and is powered by the A20 Pro chip for breakthrough performance and battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers the biggest jump in battery life in iPhone history. Verizon is offering these devices with simple pricing, no activation or upgrade fees, and the option to upgrade to a new iPhone every year through Simplicity Pro.
Simplicity Pro includes unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband data, 10GB of premium hotspot, and standard roaming in Canada and Mexico, all on America's most reliable 5G network. The plan costs $80 per month after Auto Pay and switch discounts, plus taxes and fees. Customers can get the iPhone 18 Pro today without trading in a device, and return it in good working condition to upgrade annually.
For those looking to save, Verizon offers up to $1,200 off a new iPhone with an eligible trade-in and a new line on myPlan, or up to $1,020 off for existing line upgrades. The company also provides bundle deals, such as getting an Apple Watch and iPad on Verizon when purchasing an iPhone on select plans.
Verizon Loyalty program eliminates activation and upgrade fees for all postpaid customers, saving up to $40 in device fees. Members earn 3% in Verizon Dollars monthly, redeemable for devices, accessories, or multiplied at top brands. The program also includes Verizon Shine, offering weekly chances to win experiences and daily drops.
The announcement also highlights the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, featuring the most accurate heart rate sensor in a wearable, and AirPods 5 with industry-best Active Noise Cancellation in an open-ear design. The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone, will be available for preorder starting October 16.
This matters because it simplifies the upgrade process, making premium technology more accessible without the hassle of trade-ins. It also intensifies competition among carriers, potentially leading to more flexible plans and better value for consumers.
