VERAXA Advances VXA-222 bsADC Program and Expands Patent Portfolio

VERAXA Biotech (NASDAQ: VRXA), an emerging leader in designing novel cancer therapies, has announced a significant milestone in its oncology pipeline. The company's VXA-222 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (bsADC) program has advanced beyond the discovery phase and into the next stage of development, following the successful completion of its collaboration with OmniAb Inc. This progress highlights VERAXA's continued momentum in developing innovative treatments for difficult-to-treat cancers.

The collaboration with OmniAb, which began in May 2025 (https://nnw.fm/nIprz), has delivered a portfolio of therapeutic antibody binders. With the discovery work complete, VERAXA is now responsible for engineering the final bispecific ADC candidate and advancing preclinical validation. Although VXA-222 is not based on VERAXA's proprietary BiTAC platform, it leverages the company's expertise in antibody engineering, linker technologies, and conjugation methods, positioning it as one of its more advanced development programs.

In tandem with this development milestone, VERAXA has expanded its intellectual property portfolio, filing its first BiTAC-related patents alongside additional patents supporting conjugation chemistry, payloads, and antibody technologies. The company now holds more than 50 granted owned or exclusively licensed patents across 26 patent families in 14 countries. Newly filed applications are expected to extend protection into at least 2047, securing a robust foundation for its innovative pipeline.

VERAXA continues to build a diversified oncology pipeline, encompassing bispecific antibody-drug conjugates, T-cell engagers, and engineered antibody formats. This strategic expansion underscores the company's commitment to addressing challenging cancer types and advancing next-generation therapies.
