Utah Life Sciences Industry to Showcase at BIO International Convention with State Pavilion

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – BioUtah, Utah’s life sciences trade association, announced that President and CEO Kelvyn Cullimore, along with key partners including the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Nucleus Institute, University of Utah Technology Licensing Office, World Trade Center Utah, Utah Inland Port Authority, The Point Utah, Salt Lake City Department of Economic Development, and Economic Development Corporation of Utah, will co-host the Utah Pavilion at the BIO International Convention from June 22 to June 25 in San Diego, California.

The Utah Pavilion will showcase the state’s rapidly expanding life sciences industry, which has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing in the nation. This presents a prime opportunity for attendees to learn about the dynamic bio ecosystem that has made Utah a notable hub for life sciences innovation. The Pavilion will serve as a central meeting point for engaging with leaders, innovators, decision-makers, researchers, and entrepreneurs who are shaping Utah’s life sciences future, fostering an environment conducive to potential partnerships and investment.

Utah’s life sciences community is defined by a unique culture of collaboration among industry, government, and universities, anchored by a highly educated workforce and a pro-business environment. This collaborative approach is considered essential to maintaining a robust bioscience hub. The state’s strengths span medical device manufacturing and services, research and testing, biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, and diagnostics, among other sectors. According to BioUtah, these companies are a key driver of Utah’s economy and the advancement of healthcare.

The participation of multiple economic development organizations underscores the statewide commitment to supporting the life sciences sector. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development, in particular, has been instrumental in attracting and retaining life sciences companies through various incentives and support programs. The University of Utah Technology Licensing Office also plays a crucial role by facilitating the transfer of cutting-edge research from academia to the marketplace, ensuring that innovations developed at the university can be commercialized and brought to patients worldwide.

BioUtah, an independent 501(c)(6) trade association, serves Utah’s life sciences industry and represents a broad spectrum of member companies. The organization’s efforts are focused on promoting the industry’s growth and advocating for policies that support innovation and business success. By hosting the Utah Pavilion at the BIO International Convention, BioUtah aims to elevate the state’s profile on a global stage and attract further investment and collaboration.
