A new research report from VerifyInvestor.com, powered by tZERO Group, Inc., reveals that accredited investors are poised to deploy capital, with growing interest in tokenized securities despite limited familiarity. The Accredited Investor Outlook 2026, based on a survey of over 200 verified accredited investors conducted in April 2026, underscores the active and self-directed nature of this investor class and highlights a meaningful openness to digital asset securities.
The survey indicates a market in motion, with 77% of respondents planning to make an investment within the next six months and nearly half expecting to invest within three months. Real estate (66%) and private equity/venture capital (61%) led investment category interest, while digital asset securities attracted interest from 27% of respondents, surpassing several traditional alternative asset classes such as infrastructure, hedge funds, and energy-focused investments.
Fundamentals and trust drive allocation decisions. While expected returns ranked as the top evaluation criterion (70%), management quality (50.5%), downside protection and risk mitigation (49%), and sponsor track record (48.5%) were nearly as important, indicating sophisticated due diligence. Liquidity potential ranked lowest at 18%, suggesting investors are willing to commit capital to longer-duration opportunities when fundamentals are compelling.
Tokenized securities appear at an inflection point. Only 11% of respondents described themselves as very familiar with tokenized securities, yet 27% expressed interest in digital asset securities as an investment category. This gap points to education as the primary barrier to broader adoption rather than a lack of demand. The report identifies three stages of investor awareness: curiosity, education, and adoption, with many investors currently transitioning from curiosity to education.
