WALDORF, Md., Sept. 4, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trollinger Law LLC has opened nominations for its annual Hometown Heroes Award, an initiative that celebrates first responders across Charles County and Southern Maryland for their dedication to public service. The firm invites the community to nominate deserving individuals from various emergency response fields, with winners to be announced on Oct. 5, 2026.
The award recognizes a broad range of professionals, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital staff, military service members, and other emergency workers. This inclusive approach ensures that all those who contribute to community safety are considered for the honor.
Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to a luxury suite at a D.C. United game on Oct. 24, where they will be celebrated alongside other honorees and Trollinger Law staff. Additionally, the honorees will be recognized on the field during halftime, providing a public platform to acknowledge their bravery and commitment.
Past recipients have included current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the Marine Corps, the Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads. These individuals exemplify the spirit of service that the award aims to honor.
Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law and a personal injury and workers' compensation attorney in Waldorf, emphasized the motivation behind the program. "We started Hometown Heroes as a way to honor a group of people whose efforts to protect and serve others often happen behind the scenes, with no expectation of recognition," he said. "First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours. We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."
The nomination process is now open, and questions can be directed to Dawn Williamson via email at dawn@trollingerlaw.com.
