Trilogy Metals Reports Q1 2026 Results, Secures $35.6M Federal Support for Alaska Projects

Trilogy Metals Inc. (NYSE American: TMQ) (TSX: TMQ) has reported its financial results for the first quarter ended February 28, 2026, highlighting a robust cash position of $47.8 million and significant progress at its Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects (UKMP) in northwestern Alaska. The company also announced a proposed $35.6 million U.S. federal strategic investment, which underscores the project's importance to domestic critical mineral supply chains.

The federal support, part of the Defense Production Act investments, aims to accelerate development of the UKMP, which hosts world-class polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits containing copper, zinc, lead, gold, and silver, as well as carbonate replacement deposits with high-grade copper and cobalt. This investment is expected to enhance operational capacity at Ambler Metals, the joint venture between Trilogy Metals and South32, and support a fully funded 2026 field program.

Trilogy Metals holds a 50% interest in Ambler Metals LLC, which owns 100% of the UKMP. The joint venture with South32, formed in December 2019, has been advancing exploration and permitting activities. The UKMP is located in the Ambler Mining District, one of the richest and most prospective copper-dominant districts globally. Key deposits include the Arctic VMS deposit and the Bornite carbonate replacement deposit, both within a land package spanning approximately 190,929 hectares.

Ambler Metals has an agreement with NANA Regional Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation, to ensure exploration and development occur in cooperation with local communities. The company's vision is to develop the Ambler Mining District into a premier North American copper producer while protecting subsistence livelihoods.

The first quarter results reflect continued progress in permitting, infrastructure development, and exploration. The company is advancing toward a fully funded 2026 field program, which will focus on further delineating resources and advancing feasibility studies. The federal investment, if finalized, would provide a significant boost to these efforts, reducing reliance on traditional financing sources.
