Trauma Resource Institute Hosts First International Conference, Marking 20 Years of Global Impact

The Trauma Resource Institute (TRI) will host its first annual international conference and celebrate its 20th anniversary from October 2–4, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont in Claremont, California. The event, available both in person and virtually, signals a major expansion of TRI's efforts to disseminate trauma-informed and resiliency-focused practices worldwide. Under the theme "Rooted in Well-Being, Planted in Community, Cultivated by Hope," the conference will convene TRI's diverse global network of natural leaders, educators, practitioners, researchers, community partners, and individuals interested in resilience-based work. No previous TRI training or experience is required to attend, reflecting the organization's commitment to inclusivity and broad accessibility.

TRI's international network now extends across all 50 U.S. states and more than 77 countries, a milestone that underscores the growing demand for accessible, culturally responsive mental health resources. This gathering provides an opportunity for the global community to reflect on two decades of impact, deepen connections, and explore new possibilities for expanding trauma-informed work. The conference will focus on the application of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® across different communities, professional settings, and populations. Programming includes presentations, discussions, interactive learning opportunities, and practical tools that participants can incorporate into their own work and communities.

Key topics will include real-world applications of CRM and TRM, emerging research and innovative resiliency-focused programs, community-based initiatives addressing trauma and chronic stress, and meaningful collaboration with practitioners, educators, and partners from around the world. Both CRM and TRM are designed to help people understand the biological effects of trauma and chronic stress while learning skills that support balance and well-being. The conference will highlight how these models are being used to strengthen individuals and communities in culturally responsive and accessible ways.

In addition to the main conference programming, TRI will hold a 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, October 3. Separate tickets are required for the gala. The conference will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont, located at 555 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711. Virtual attendees will be able to access conference programming through the Whova online platform. The deadline for in-person registration is September 10, 2026. Virtual registration will remain open through September 30, 2026.
