Paper Garden Records recording artists The Storm Windows have released the first single from their forthcoming live album: 'FIONA,' a song about lost love and the highway to contemplate it. The track was recorded live before a sold-out audience at Tank Studio in Burlington, Vermont, on November 1, 2025, and features the trio of Rob Mathews on guitar and vocals, Don Mathews on upright bass and vocals, and Erik Anderson on drums.
The single is the band's first release on the PGRoots label of Paper Garden Records and precedes the full live album, scheduled for release on August 21. Fans can access the single now on various platforms, including YouTube and Spotify.
Audio production and mixing were handled by Ben Collett and Julia Rangel at Tank Recording Studios, with the video directed by Drew Fahle. The Storm Windows, whose name is inspired by a John Prine song, describe themselves as veteran musicians who have weathered storms and continue to perform. Their music has been labeled 'New Americana,' blending folk, rock, and jazz elements.
