A recent survey by LogicMark, Inc. (OTC: LGMK), a provider of personal emergency response systems and developer of the Aster safety app, reveals that safety concerns are significantly limiting the daily lives of many women. The survey found that 38% of women reported moderate to significant limitations due to safety concerns, with the number rising to 44% among women aged 18 to 25. These limitations include avoiding certain routes, activities, travel, and social events, which can quietly shape careers, fitness routines, and social interactions.
Over time, these everyday decisions compound into a gradual erosion of mobility, independence, and quality of life. Career paths requiring travel or late hours become less accessible, fitness routines like running outdoors are adjusted or abandoned, and social lives shrink as spontaneity is replaced with calculation. As highlighted in LogicMark’s survey, safety concerns don’t just create fear—they actively limit participation, particularly among younger women navigating formative years of independence.
The survey also found that over half of the women surveyed have experienced situations where they felt unsafe, with younger women indicating repeated experiences. Yet, when they felt unsafe, they often couldn’t reach help because the safety devices they rely on—such as personal sirens, pepper spray, or flashlights—are not easily accessible, practical to carry, or capable of contacting emergency services.
To address this, LogicMark offers the Aster app and Aster SOS Safety button. The Aster app transforms a smartphone into a connected safety tool with features like a home-screen slider for immediate emergency access, a Hold Until Safe feature for proactive monitoring, and a Follow-Me feature that schedules safety check-ins during travel. If a user becomes unresponsive, the app automatically escalates to emergency support. Location sharing is activated only during an emergency, balancing faster response with user privacy.
Complementing the app is the Aster Bluetooth button, a compact wearable device that provides fast, discreet access to help without needing to unlock a phone. With three presses, users are connected to a 24/7 monitoring center where an agent can assess the situation and stay on the line until the user is safe. The button’s small form factor and long battery life make it easy to carry consistently, ensuring support is always within reach.
Aster and the Aster SOS Safety Button provide continuous monitoring that works even when users can’t initiate help on their own. By offering a safety net that doesn’t require constant vigilance, LogicMark aims to give women the confidence to reclaim their mobility and independence.
