Stabilus SE Bundles Automation Expertise Under Stabilus4Automation, Targets EUR 500 Million in New Product Revenue

Stabilus SE (WKN: STAB1L, ISIN: DE000STAB1L8), a global leader in motion control solutions, is expanding its industrial automation business by bundling the technological expertise of its expert brands under the Stabilus4Automation umbrella. The move aims to strengthen the company's position in the structurally growing automation market, with a specific focus on integrated solutions for automated production processes and robotics.

Under Stabilus4Automation, the group combines the know-how of its brands—Stabilus, ACE, Destaco, Fabreeka, and Hahn Gasfedern—to offer a globally unique portfolio for automation technology. This includes solutions for damping technology, speed control, and vibration isolation, ranging from small quantities to large series. Key differentiators include customer-specific solutions tailored to individual applications and performance requirements.

According to recent market studies, the global addressable market for end-of-arm tooling, gripping systems, and robotic tooling solutions is approximately EUR 3 billion and is expected to grow at double-digit rates amid increasing automation. Stabilus aims to generate around EUR 500 million in revenue from new, innovative products that deliver above-average margin levels, with the Automation segment, including robotics, contributing significantly to this target.

Stabilus CEO Dr. Michael Buchsner stated, "Industrial automation is an important growth area for Stabilus. With Stabilus4Automation, we are leveraging synergies within the group to further develop our technology portfolio and offer integrated solutions for demanding automation applications, which also explicitly includes solutions in robotics."

The company plans to implement selected automation solutions in its own production plants to optimize manufacturing processes and leverage efficiency gains. Practical experience from operational use will inform further product development. Additionally, existing Stabilus products are increasingly deployed in industrial robotics for controlled movement, damping, and vibration reduction, tapping into the growth area of industrial robotics and humanoid robots.

Jurgen Roland, Head of the business unit Industrial Components, said, "We view industrial automation as an integrated system of the required movements – from the gripper and vibration isolation to drive solution. In the field of cobots and robots with small payloads, we already offer powerful end-of-arm tools and advanced solutions. We are already working with more than 100 partners worldwide in the field of robotics."

A notable example is a handling solution developed jointly by Destaco and ACE, combining automation expertise and damping technology into a powerful end-of-arm tool (EOAT) used as a gripping tool in modern production environments. By integrating ACE’s MC series miniature shock absorbers, the handling of packages of varying sizes and weights is enhanced, improving protection of peripheral equipment and overall efficiency.

These applications illustrate Stabilus' focus on modular, scalable solutions that can be flexibly integrated into existing production lines. Driven by trends such as skilled labor shortages, increasing quality requirements, and the need for efficient manufacturing, industrial automation and robotics offer additional growth prospects for Stabilus in industrial end markets with long-term investment logic.
