Search Atlas, the AI-powered SEO and marketing platform serving more than 30,000 customers and 5,000 agencies, has completed a full migration of its website, searchatlas.com, from WordPress to Next.js. The move comes after eight years on WordPress, where the platform's plugin-and-theme architecture became increasingly cumbersome as the site scaled.
The decision reflects a broader industry shift toward performance and maintainability, especially as AI-driven search and agentic browsers change how users interact with websites. WordPress, while flexible, adds overhead with each plugin, slowing down page loads and increasing the risk of failures. By rebuilding as a static HTML site on Next.js, Search Atlas aims to deliver faster, more reliable performance.
Beyond the technical upgrade, the migration places the entire site under the management of the Search Atlas platform itself, specifically its Atlas Agent. This means that technical fixes, on-page SEO adjustments, and new landing pages can now be executed agentically, without the need for a developer queue. The company sees this as a practical demonstration of its own platform's capabilities, using its website as a live example of what customers can achieve.
“We built our own site on WordPress for eight years because it was easy, and then we outgrew it the same way our customers do,” said Arman Advani, Partner at Search Atlas. “Moving to Next.js and putting the whole site under Atlas Agent isn't just faster pages—it's us running our own website exactly the way we tell customers to run theirs.”
The shift is not just about speed; it's about adapting to a future where AI agents may be the primary visitors to websites. As Search Atlas notes, AI search and agentic browsers demand that sites be fast and easily parseable. WordPress's plugin-heavy architecture works against these goals, while a static Next.js site offers a leaner, more efficient foundation.
For prospective customers, Search Atlas's own site now serves as a proof point. By managing its site through the same platform it offers to others, the company demonstrates that its approach works in production under real traffic. The migration is a strategic move to lead by example, showing that an AI-managed website can operate without the overhead typical of WordPress at scale.
Search Atlas was founded in 2021 by Manick Bhan, who also built OTTO SEO, an autonomous SEO agent that won Best AI Search Software Solution at the 2025 Global Search Awards. The company is headquartered in New York and serves clients in over 200 countries.
