SBF AG, a listed specialist for innovative solutions in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology, announced today the commercialization of two field-tested product innovations: the enhanced Automatic Label Feeder (ALF) and the automatic optical inspection system INSPECT. Both solutions, developed in-house, are now available to industrial customers with comparable requirements, addressing the growing demand for automation and digitalization. This strategic move reinforces SBF's commitment to leveraging its technological expertise to create direct customer value and unlock additional earnings potential.
Robert Stocklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG, highlighted the significance of these developments: "We are now even better positioned for the future with these product developments. INSPECT takes quality assurance in electronics manufacturing to a new level of automation. Solutions with high customer value and clear efficiency potential are exactly the kind of innovation with which the SBF Group aims to grow. In electronics manufacturing, traceability and automation are decisive competitive factors. With the Automatic Label Feeder, we're addressing exactly that need and are continually expanding the technology's capabilities to include new applications such as the labeling of printed circuit boards, electronic components, and now glass vials as well. This demonstrates the adaptability of our technology and sustainably strengthens our product portfolio."
The Automatic Label Feeder sets a standard for precise, reliable labeling in industrial processes. Originally developed for SBF's own electronics production, ALF evolved into an independent product line due to strong customer demand. The latest enhancement enables fully automated labeling of glass vials, opening doors to industries such as pharmaceuticals, laboratory diagnostics, and fine chemicals. Its platform architecture allows flexible adaptation to different production processes, providing a foundation for future growth.
INSPECT represents another milestone in product development, automating quality inspection of electronic assemblies after SMD placement. The system uses a high-resolution camera to capture assembled printed circuit boards, with software that identifies fiducial marks, component positions, and orientations, reads standard barcode and 2D code formats, and automatically documents results. Setup takes minutes, and calibration and operating data are preserved during updates. Enhanced stability and robustness ensure reliable operation even during hardware failures, elevating process control in electronics manufacturing.
These products exemplify SBF's innovation model: technologies first developed to optimize internal processes are matured for market, creating new sales and growth opportunities. By strengthening its portfolio with solutions aligned with automation and digitalization trends, SBF enhances its competitive position across all business segments.
