Starting today, Verizon customers can preorder Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, pairing the company’s most advanced foldable technology with a simplified, no-tiers plan that promises faster 5G speeds and device freedom. The announcement underscores Verizon’s push to reduce carrier complexity while making premium devices more accessible.
The Galaxy Z Fold8, priced at $1,899.99, and the Z Fold8 Ultra, at $2,099.99, are available for preorder at verizon.com and in stores, with full retail availability on August 7. Both devices feature expansive, immersive screens designed for multitasking and high-performance productivity, suitable for busy professionals and entertainment enthusiasts alike.
Verizon’s “Simplicity Plan” eliminates network tiers, offering unlimited data on a single plan. For new customers switching from another carrier, the Z Fold8 (256GB) costs $30 per month for the phone plus $30 per month for the plan, totaling $60 per month with Auto Pay and paper-free billing. This includes $460 in promotional credits over 48 months. The Z Fold8 Ultra (256GB) drops to $35 per month for the device under similar conditions, with $420 in credits.
Existing customers upgrading to an Unlimited Plus or Ultimate plan can trade in an eligible device for up to $1,100 off either new foldable, applied over 36 months. The trade-in phone must be active on the account for at least 60 days. Verizon also offers an “Ultimate Bundle”: with a new Samsung phone purchase or BYOD activation on a new line, customers can receive a Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Tab S10 FE on a 36-month payment plan, with up to $650 in credits per device.
Business customers on My Biz Plan can get up to $900 off the Z8 series with a qualifying trade-in and a $15+ monthly add-on. Separately, the Galaxy Watch9 starts at $429.99, while the Watch Ultra2 begins at $699.99. BYOD watch deals allow new Android phone lines to get a Galaxy Watch9 on us (with $430 in credits) or the Watch Ultra2 for as low as $8 per month.
Verizon is also launching a loyalty program that provides monthly cash back in “Verizon Dollars” for device purchases, along with weekly giveaways through “Verizon Shine.” Customers who buy a Z Fold8 or Z Fold8 Ultra can get six months of the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (With Ads) perk on the house.
These offers reflect Verizon’s strategy to attract and retain customers by simplifying plans and offering substantial hardware subsidies, challenging competitors like T-Mobile and AT&T in the premium device market. The deals also aim to boost adoption of foldable smartphones, which remain a niche but rapidly growing segment.
