REPLOID Group AG is consolidating its fertilizer business into a dedicated company, REPLOID REGREEN GmbH (REGREEN), based in Wels, Austria. The newly formed subsidiary will produce and market organic fertilizers made from insect frass, a nutrient-rich by-product of Black Soldier Fly larvae processing organic residues from the food industry. Andreas Steinbüchler, a veteran with over 25 years in the fertilizer industry, has been appointed Managing Director.
The spin-off establishes the structural foundation for REPLOID's planned entry into the fertilizer market. REGREEN's products will be sourced from insect frass generated in REPLOID's own ReFarmUnits. The company plans to launch fertilizer sticks for potted plants in fall 2026, followed by a lawn fertilizer and an agricultural fertilizer for commercial farming later that year.
Europe's fertilizer market faces structural pressures, including heavy reliance on imported mineral fertilizers, tightening regulations, and increasingly degraded soils. Organic fertilizers complement mineral ones by improving nutrient efficiency, building soil organic matter, and enhancing soil resilience to drought stress. This positions REGREEN to meet rising demand for locally produced, circular solutions in agriculture and horticulture.

Steinbüchler brings more than 25 years of experience in the fertilizer industry, including over 15 years in leadership roles across sales, supply chain, and finance. From 2018 to 2023, he served as Chief Commercial Officer of LAT Nitrogen GmbH, Europe's second-largest fertilizer producer. He also served as President of the Fertilizers Europe association from 2021 to 2023.
