PNE Sells Two Repowering Wind Farm Projects to Private Investors

The PNE Group has successfully sold two wind farm projects to a small group of private investors, marking another milestone in its project disposal strategy. The projects, “Wulfsdorf A” in Schleswig-Holstein and “Kuhstedt III” in Lower Saxony, together have a total nominal capacity of 45 megawatts (MW). Both are repowering projects, replacing older turbines with modern, more powerful technology to significantly increase renewable electricity generation at existing sites.

The “Wulfsdorf A” wind farm, located in the district of Ostholstein, will feature two Vestas V150 turbines (6.0 MW each) and two Vestas V162 turbines (6.2 MW each), totaling 24.4 MW. Construction is already underway, with commissioning scheduled for December 2026. The “Kuhstedt III” wind farm in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) will have a total capacity of 20.6 MW, consisting of two Nordex N175 turbines (6.8 MW each) and one Nordex N163 turbine (7.0 MW). Construction is in progress, and commissioning is expected around the turn of 2026/27.

Based on expected electricity generation, the two wind farms will supply the equivalent annual electricity demand of approximately 31,000 three-person households per year. This underscores the efficiency gains from repowering, which allows for more output from the same land footprint.

“By selling ‘Wulfsdorf A’ and ‘Kuhstedt III’, we continue our successful marketing of high-quality wind farm projects,” said Roland Stanze, COO of PNE AG. “Both projects demonstrate the value of repowering: we are making more efficient use of existing sites, deploying modern and highly efficient turbine technology, and significantly increasing renewable energy generation. At the same time, the transaction underscores the attractiveness of our projects to investors. Through the operational management services, we will also remain closely connected to the wind farms.”

Operational management of both wind farms will be provided by energy consult GmbH, a company within the PNE Group, ensuring continued PNE involvement and expertise.

The sale continues PNE's track record of project disposals this year. Recently, PNE sold the “Romescamps” wind farm in France (10.8 MW), the “Bokel” wind farm in Germany (25.2 MW), a wind farm project in Poland (72 MW), and a photovoltaic project in Poland (approximately 40 MW). These transactions highlight PNE's active role in the renewable energy market and its ability to deliver attractive investment opportunities.

The PNE Group, listed on the SDAX, has over 30 years of experience in onshore wind farm development. Its focus includes wind and photovoltaic projects worldwide, as well as power generation from its own wind farms. The company covers all project planning phases, from site investigation to repowering, and offers services for the entire life cycle of renewable energy plants, including battery storage solutions.
