MAX Power Mining Accelerates Commercial Evaluation of Canada’s First Subsurface Natural Hydrogen System

MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX) (OTC: MAXXF) has announced a significant acceleration of its strategy to commercialize natural hydrogen, following the confirmation of Canada’s first-ever subsurface natural hydrogen system at its Lawson site near Central Butte, Saskatchewan. The company is moving from initial proof-of-concept toward commercial evaluation, a transition that could mark a turning point in the emerging natural hydrogen sector.

The cornerstone of the next phase is the commencement of a 3D seismic survey across a 47-square-kilometer area at Lawson, with all required permits and approvals in place. This survey is designed to delineate the hydrogen-bearing structures and support resource estimation. Additionally, MAX Power has identified more than 80 additional subsurface structures along the Genesis Trend that display geological features analogous to those at Lawson, highlighting the scalability potential of the play.

“We are moving rapidly at Lawson with an aggressive ‘months to molecules’ strategy targeting commercial validation,” said MAX Power CEO Ran Narayanasamy. “The repeatability and scalability potential of Genesis creates the opportunity for the birth of the world’s first Natural Hydrogen industry.”

The company is also expanding its basin-scale exploration campaign along the 475-kilometer-long Genesis Trend in Saskatchewan. This broader effort aims to replicate the Lawson discovery across multiple targets, potentially establishing a new energy resource base. Natural hydrogen, also known as white or gold hydrogen, is generated through natural geological processes and is considered a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.

MAX Power’s progress is being closely watched by investors and industry observers, as natural hydrogen could complement green hydrogen produced via electrolysis. The company’s shift to commercial evaluation could accelerate development timelines and attract strategic partnerships. According to the company’s newsroom at https://ibn.fm/MAXXF, MAX Power aims to establish a first-mover advantage in the natural hydrogen space.

The 3D seismic survey is expected to provide critical data for designing production tests and assessing the economic viability of the Lawson system. With more than 80 analogous structures along the Genesis Trend, the potential for a significant hydrogen province exists. MAX Power is positioning itself at the forefront of natural hydrogen exploration in North America.
