Lantern Pharma Expands predictBBB into Large Quantitative Model for Drug Discovery

Lantern Pharma (NASDAQ: LTRN) announced the expansion of its predictBBB platform into a Large Quantitative Model (LQM), delivering a real-time, web-based molecular intelligence engine that enables researchers to generate comprehensive developability profiles for small molecules from a single SMILES input. The enhanced platform leverages Lantern’s RADR AI technology to provide rapid, high-dimensional analysis across physicochemical properties, drug-likeness, structural architecture and topological mapping, with benchmark-validated performance and accessibility designed to streamline drug discovery workflows and broaden access to advanced computational tools.

This expansion represents a significant step in advancing computational drug discovery. By transforming predictBBB into an LQM, Lantern aims to democratize access to sophisticated molecular analysis, allowing researchers to quickly assess drug candidates without needing extensive computational expertise. The platform’s ability to generate comprehensive profiles from a single input could accelerate early-stage drug development, reducing time and cost associated with traditional screening methods.

The implications for the pharmaceutical industry are substantial. With an LQM, researchers can rapidly evaluate thousands of compounds virtually, prioritizing those with the highest potential for further development. This could lead to more efficient identification of drug candidates for central nervous system (CNS) indications, where predictBBB’s blood-brain barrier permeability predictions are particularly valuable. Lantern’s subsidiary, Starlight Therapeutics, focuses on pediatric CNS cancers, and this tool could expedite the development of therapies for such challenging diseases.

Lantern Pharma is a clinical-stage precision oncology company leveraging AI and machine learning through its proprietary RADR platform. Its clinical pipeline includes LP-184, LP-284, and LP-300, with LP-184 being developed for pediatric CNS cancers via Starlight Therapeutics. Additionally, Lantern’s Zeta.ai platform, a multi-agentic AI co-scientist, is now commercially available as a subscription-based research platform, representing a new revenue stream. The company operates an AI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, India, and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
