To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program within the United States and be in good academic standing. Applicants are required to submit an essay answering: "How has your journey as a cancer survivor shaped your understanding of resilience, and how do you plan to apply that strength to your future professional or community leadership roles?"
The founder, Keith Dagostino, established this program to honor individuals who have successfully navigated complex personal trials while continuing their academic pursuits. Dagostino built his career on dedication and perseverance, earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University in three years before establishing a career spanning nearly three decades in financial services. As a Senior Managing Director, devoted husband, father of five, former youth sports coach, and school trustee, Dagostino recognizes the essential role that perseverance plays in achieving long-term personal and professional achievements. Through this initiative, he aims to ease educational expenses for students who exemplify these principles.
Scholarship applications must be submitted electronically by January 15, 2027. The selection committee will evaluate submissions based on original thought, leadership potential, and the applicant's articulated vision for contributing to their community.
