HeartMath's 'Restoring Balance with the Heart' Experience at WHO Global Summit Highlights Role of Heart Coherence in Public Health

HeartMath, a pioneer in heart rate variability biofeedback and coherence research, participated in the Second World Health Organization (WHO) Global Summit on Traditional Medicine held December 17–19, 2025, in New Delhi, India. Convened by the WHO and the Government of India, the summit brought together over 800 leaders, policymakers, scientists, and health practitioners from more than 100 countries. HeartMath was among 25 evidence-based innovations invited to host an experiential lab within the summit's Traditional Medicine Discovery Experience.

In collaboration with The Fyera Foundation/Heart Ambassadors, which holds Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), HeartMath curated and led an immersive lab titled "Restoring Balance with the Heart: Science Illuminates the Heart's Role in Balancing Our Bodies, Emotions, and World." The experience introduced delegates to peer-reviewed HeartMath research on heart-brain interactions, heart rate variability, and emotional self-regulation, supported by real-time biofeedback and practical skill-building tools. More than 300 delegates participated, sparking dialogue on the role of heart-based regulation in public health, resilience, and policy development.

HeartMath's participation was made possible through the sustained engagement of The Fyera Foundation with the United Nations and the WHO. Their donated time, financial contributions, and programs aligned with UN and WHO priorities allowed key WHO leaders to experience HeartMath's work directly, helping inspire the organization's inclusion in the summit. Sheva Carr and Robert Browning, HeartMath's Co-Directors of Healthcare, jointly stated, "We're deeply grateful for the WHO and the opportunity to share the power of the heart to source this synergy of people and systems. Being able to integrate HeartMath's research and technology in the WHO's immersive discovery experience for delegates from around the world was an honor."

The significance of this summit extends beyond the event itself. HeartMath's research was formally included in the launch of the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Library, the world's largest digital repository of Traditional Medicine evidence. Additionally, key elements from the summit exhibition will remain on permanent display at the WHO Traditional Medicine Headquarters in Jamnagar, India. This inclusion marks a milestone for integrating heart coherence practices into global health policy frameworks.

HeartMath's system of scientifically validated, heart-focused techniques and HRV biofeedback technologies helps people reduce stress, manage emotions, and build resilience by fostering a coherent, synchronized state between the heart, brain, and nervous system. With over 400 independent research studies and 20,000 citations validating its methods, HeartMath's tools are trusted by organizations such as Stanford Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, Duke Health, NASA, and the United Nations. The organization's impact extends globally through educational video courses, podcasts, and social platforms reaching over 1 million people.

This summit represents a step toward recognizing emotional regulation and heart coherence as vital components of public health. By bringing heart-based science to the forefront of global health discussions, HeartMath and its partners are helping to shape a future where these practices become integrated into public health policy and implementations, serving the well-being of populations worldwide.
