Greenland Mines Advances Rare Earth and Palladium Projects, Bolstering Critical Minerals Strategy

Greenland Mines Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRML) has issued a shareholder letter from President Dr. Bo Møller Stensgaard, outlining key milestones achieved since the company's rebranding in March. The letter highlights the closing of the Sarfartoq Neodymium-Praseodymium Rare Earths Project acquisition on September 1 and ongoing development at the Skaergaard palladium-gold-platinum project. These developments are pivotal as the company positions itself within the critical minerals sector, which is increasingly vital for global technology and defense supply chains.

The acquisition of the Sarfartoq project in southwest Greenland is a cornerstone of Greenland Mines' strategy to secure a foothold in the rare earth elements market. An independent Initial Assessment cited a high-case pre-tax NPV of approximately $2.05 billion and a 118.6% IRR, including Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resources. The project boasts an updated estimate of 6.9 million tonnes of Indicated resources at 1.60% TREO and 5.3 million tonnes of Inferred resources at 0.96% TREO. Notably, Neo Performance Materials, a strategic shareholder, holds offtake rights for up to 60% of future production, providing a clear market pathway for the project's output. This aligns with broader efforts to reduce reliance on non-allied sources for rare earth elements, as highlighted in the company's North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor vision.

At the Skaergaard project in southeast Greenland, the company reported that its July 2026 S-K 1300 Technical Report Summary increased the Indicated PdEq grade by 36% and contained Indicated PdEq ounces by 31% compared with the 2022 estimate. The project is advancing with a comprehensive 2026 field program, including drilling, bulk sampling, geotechnical work, and environmental baseline studies. Bulk material is being sent to GTK Mintec in Finland for metallurgical and processing flowsheet testing, a critical step toward optimizing extraction methods.

The shareholder letter also outlined remaining 2026 milestones, which include advancing Sarfartoq toward targeted infill drilling and a Pre-Feasibility Study, moving Skaergaard toward an Initial Assessment that evaluates a mining scenario, and continuing to develop the broader North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor. This corridor strategy aims to link Greenland's mineral resources with allied downstream jurisdictions and industrial infrastructure, mitigating supply chain vulnerabilities.

These milestones are not just corporate achievements but carry significant geopolitical and economic implications. The projects place Greenland Mines at the forefront of supplying essential materials for electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and advanced electronics, sectors that are experiencing surging demand. With the global push toward cleaner energy and the strategic importance of critical minerals, the company's progress could influence market dynamics and bolster supply chain resilience for allied nations.
