Fitzroy Minerals Extends Oxide Zone to 1.7 km at Buen Retiro, Reports Strong Copper and Cobalt Results

Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQB: FTZFF) has reported the latest drilling results from its Buen Retiro and Caballos copper projects in northern Chile, highlighting a significant extension of the oxide zone at Buen Retiro to 1.7 kilometres and the discovery of sulphide mineralization that resembles the Candelaria deposit. The company also announced new drilling contracts and plans for geophysical surveys in 2026.

At Buen Retiro, Phase 2 diamond drilling has been completed, with results from holes 40 to 43 reported. Drill hole BRT-DDH041 intersected 108 metres at 0.41% copper and 156 ppm cobalt from 30 metres, including 48 metres at 0.77% copper and 241 ppm cobalt from 60 metres. Drill hole BRT-DDH043 returned 77 metres at 0.46% copper from 196 metres, including 20 metres at 0.97% copper and 139 ppm cobalt from 201 metres. These intersections, along with previous results, define a copper-mineralized trend extending approximately one kilometre north of the historical Manto Negro open pit.

Reverse circulation drilling also extended the Southwest oxide target. Hole BRT-RCD008, initially a condemnation hole, intersected 213 metres at 0.19% copper and 199 ppm cobalt from 3 metres, including 85 metres at 0.33% copper and 111 ppm cobalt. This extends the oxide mineralization trend by 300 metres to a total strike length of 1,700 metres. Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO, commented: “Drill holes 41 to 45 are defining a completely new exploration target of Candelaria-style mineralization at Buen Retiro. These sulphide intersections are relatively shallow and with some results that are similar to the Candelaria open pit grades as reported by Lundin Mining.”

The company has signed new drilling contracts for a minimum of 10,400 metres of diamond drilling and 3,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling for 2026. A ground passive seismic survey is planned to assist with deeper sulphide targeting. Additionally, discussions with Sociedad Punta del Cobre S.A. regarding a heap leach joint venture continue, and a pre-feasibility study will be completed to meet NI 43-101 requirements.

At the Caballos project, final results from the 2025 drilling program have been released. Drill hole CAB-DDH009 intersected 70 metres at 0.41% copper equivalent from 85 metres in the Estero Chincolco hydrothermal breccia. The core exhibits porphyry textures, alteration, and mineralization, consistent with a long-lived copper system. An airborne MobileMT geophysical survey is scheduled for Q1 2026 to help map subsurface geology and guide Phase 2 drilling.

Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans, a qualified person under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information. The company’s shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol FTZ and on the OTCQB under FTZFF.
