The Edward Angel Scholarship for Veterans has officially opened its application window, offering financial support to undergraduate student veterans across the United States. Founded by Edward L. Angel, a United States Air Force veteran and CEO of ELA Group, Inc. and Paradigm Engineers & Constructors, the scholarship aims to help former service members transition into civilian leadership roles through higher education.
The scholarship focuses on fostering civic responsibility, requiring applicants to reflect on how their military service influences their vision for local community growth. “Service does not end when a individual takes off the uniform,” Angel stated. “The discipline, strategic thinking, and resilience forged in the military are exactly the traits needed to solve complex modern challenges in communities across the United States.”
To qualify, applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university, verified veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, and in satisfactory academic standing. They must submit an original essay of 500 to 750 words detailing how their military service shapes their vision for leadership and community contribution in their home city, and how the legacy of service in cities like Shreveport inspires their future goals.
Applications, including proof of veteran status and enrollment verification, must be emailed to the selection committee by February 15, 2027. The winner will be announced on March 15, 2027. The one-time award is intended to cover tuition, textbooks, and other academic fees.
Angel, who manages major public-sector infrastructure projects through his companies, emphasizes the importance of equipping veterans with tools for successful civilian careers. By eliminating regional restrictions, the program ensures equal opportunity for undergraduate veterans from any state or territory. For more information, visit the official website at example.com.
