Datavault AI (NASDAQ: DVLT) has appointed Frank Deo as chief technology officer of its Acoustic Sciences Division, the company announced today. Deo, a Technical Emmy Award winner with more than 30 years of experience, will lead efforts to unify the division's engineering stack across acquired operations, expand artificial intelligence-assisted development tools, standardize processes, and simplify architecture to reduce operating costs as the business scales.
Deo previously served as vice president of new media technology at API Media, where he led product engineering for the ADIO platform. He is an inventor on 31 issued U.S. and international patents. The Acoustic Sciences Division develops technologies including ADIO, WiSA, Event Citadel, and API Media for spatial audio, data-over-sound signaling, and live-event systems.
The appointment expands the division's leadership as Datavault AI evaluates a potential dividend spinout of the Acoustic Sciences Division into a stand-alone public company. The proposed transaction remains subject to board approval, a definitive agreement, closing conditions, and any required regulatory approvals.
