Clym Environmental Services, LLC celebrated the opening of its new processing facility in Frostburg, Maryland, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 27, 2026. The event drew over 100 attendees, including elected officials, industry leaders, and community partners, who gathered to mark the milestone in the Frostburg Business Park.
The ceremony featured a VIP tour of the facility, information stations on ozone treatment technology, and a display by Energy Select, the solar company behind the facility's renewable energy system. Attendees also learned about the facility's environmental benefits, particularly its use of ozone generated from ambient air and powered by solar energy. This approach significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional thermal treatment methods.
The program opened with remarks from Juli McCoy, President & CEO of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce, and Richard Police, Director of Business Development at Clym. Speakers included Charles Watts, President of Clym; Secretary Harry Coker of the Maryland Department of Commerce; Bill Atkinson, Allegany County Commissioner; Jeff Barclay, Director of Allegany County Economic Development; and Kelly Schulz, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council.
McCoy highlighted the facility's broader impact: "Clym Environmental will create living-wage jobs, and its operations, using technology and environmental science, make its proximity to Frostburg State University a perfect fit for the Frostburg Business Park and Allegany County."
Clym also received a certificate of congressional recognition from Congresswoman April McClain Delaney, presented by Kendall Abruzzese, Western Maryland Outreach Coordinator. Abruzzese praised Clym's "pioneering work in environmentally friendly and innovative waste management biotechnology" and its contribution to workforce opportunities and long-term economic growth in Western Maryland.
The Frostburg facility will process biohazardous material using Clym's proprietary ozone treatment technology, converting it into safe, reusable materials. This facility supports Clym's expansion across the eastern United States and reinforces its role in advancing sustainable waste management for the life sciences, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries.
