The 11th edition of CENTRESTAGE, Asia's premier annual fashion event, officially opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), running through September 5. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the event has attracted a record-breaking 270 international brands from 24 countries and regions. For the first time, the exhibition is open free of charge to both industry buyers and the public, offering an immersive experience in Asia's fashion capital.
This year's CENTRESTAGE introduces the Hype2 pavilion, a dedicated zone spotlighting streetwear labels led by local celebrities and KOLs, including Rosita Kwok's Claro, Vincent Wong's OGIS, Kelvin Kwan's PICK AND MATCH, and Pakho Chau's XPX. The pavilion debuted limited-edition products and will host the "Hype2 Runway Show" on September 4, featuring over 10 streetwear brands with special celebrity appearances.
The grand opening fashion show, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, showcased KIT WAN STUDIOS, a multidisciplinary design studio led by Hong Kong-born creative director Kit Wan. The studio's collaborative roster includes artists like Miriam Yeung and Hins Cheung. Over 30 brand-new looks debuted on the runway, with select pieces displayed at the fairground. The show was livestreamed across multiple platforms to share the collection "MUTANT // MYTHOLOGY" with a wider audience.
Korea is serving as CENTRESTAGE's Featured Partner for the first time, with a pavilion jointly organized by KOTRA, HISEOUL SHOWROOM, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong. The pavilion brings 12 renowned Seoul designer brands, including DOUCAN and ELNORE, alongside the Gyeonggi Fashion Creative Studio. The pavilion will host a thematic fashion show, "SEOUListic: The Future is Sustainable," on September 4.
The exhibition also features seven thematic zones, including a new Perfume zone with over 20 brands making their Hong Kong debut, and an expanded Accessories zone. The Circular Fashion zone highlights sustainability with local brand JESSE LEE presenting 3D-printed garments from upcycled fabrics. Select exhibitors offer retail sales, allowing the public to purchase designer pieces on the spot.
Over 40 events are scheduled, including a historic high of more than 30 fashion shows. Key highlights include the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show on September 3, inspired by "Hong Kong Dopamine," presenting collections from local brands 112 mountainyam, ANGUS TSUI, ARTY:ACTIVE, and Z I D I. The FASHIONALLY platform will also showcase young designers.
Industry exchange is facilitated through sessions like "Meet the Designer," featuring Korean designer Rok Hwang, and seminars by organizations such as AiDLab and the Australian Fashion Council. The event also hosts competitions like the Redress Design Award 2026 and the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest (YDC) 2026, with the public able to vote online for the "My Favourite Collection" award.
Interactive zones offer immersive experiences, including the Fashion Sound Lab and SNAPIO Stand. The HKTDC has invited global buyers from major retailers like Dover Street Market London and Selfridges to source at the event. CENTRESTAGE is held concurrently with the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and Salon de TE, providing a one-stop shopping experience.
Smilely Lam, Associate Executive Director of HKTDC, emphasized that CENTRESTAGE leverages Hong Kong's advantages to foster two-way collaboration, allowing local brands to connect with overseas buyers and international labels to use Hong Kong as a springboard into Asia. The event aims to consolidate Hong Kong's position as Asia's fashion and creative hub.
