Cali Camp, a Los Angeles day camp established in 1955 in Topanga Canyon, has announced its 2026 Open House schedule and summer camp season. The camp will host four Open Houses from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on February 22, March 22, April 19, and May 17, giving prospective families the opportunity to tour the property, meet staff, and participate in signature activities. No RSVP is required.
The 2026 summer season runs from June 15 through August 14, welcoming campers ages 4 to 15 to the Santa Monica Mountains. As a summer camp near Los Angeles, Cali Camp offers a diverse activity lineup including swimming, arts and crafts, a ropes course, horseback riding, go-karts, zip lines, aerial arts, rock climbing, archery, gymnastics, dance, handball, and Ga-Ga.
Positioned as both an art and craft summer camp and an aerial arts camp for kids in Los Angeles, Cali Camp's programs are designed to help children grow, connect with nature, and let their imaginations run. According to the camp, the property is "a place to roam streams, meadows and oak trees," where "campers reclaim their connection to the environment and its springboard for their imaginations."
In addition to Classic Camp, Cali Camp operates two specialty programs. Wrangler Camp, an equestrian-focused program for campers ages 8 to 14, is a specialty camp that, according to the camp, sells out fast. The Junior Leaders program provides leadership training for 14- and 15-year-olds.
At each Open House, visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour, meet staff, learn about the program, and try favorite activities like handball, Ga-Ga, archery, ropes course, aerial arts, and gymnastics. Families are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to the grassy lawn or a table in the Shady Oak Quad. The camp suggests allowing at least one hour for a visit.
Cali Camp is located at 1717 Old Topanga Canyon Rd., Topanga, CA 90290. Registration and additional program details are available on the camp's website.
The announcement of the 2026 schedule is significant for families seeking summer enrichment in the Los Angeles area. With its long history and focus on outdoor activities, Cali Camp offers a unique alternative to screen-based entertainment, emphasizing creativity and environmental connection. The open house dates provide an early opportunity for parents to secure a spot, particularly for popular programs like Wrangler Camp. As the demand for nature-based children's activities grows, Cali Camp's commitment to fostering imagination and resilience in a natural setting makes it a relevant choice for modern families.
