BOXABL Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL), a factory-built construction company known for its foldable housing units, has unveiled a new concept aimed at the rapidly growing data center industry. The Server Pod is a design study for modular, factory-assembled enclosures intended to house AI and cloud computing infrastructure. The company is clear that this is a concept only and not currently in production, but it serves to showcase BOXABL's manufacturing capabilities and open discussions with potential partners.
The announcement comes as the data center sector faces unprecedented demand driven by the expansion of artificial intelligence and cloud services. According to JLL’s 2026 Global Data Center Market Outlook, the industry is expected to grow at a 14% compound annual growth rate through 2030, with approximately 100 gigawatts of new capacity coming online between 2026 and 2030. This growth could require up to $3 trillion in total investment, highlighting the scale of opportunity.
BOXABL's concept includes configurations ranging from a 10-foot Server Pod envisioned at 0.5 petaflop tier to a 2,500-square-foot Server Tron envisioned at 16 petaflop operations per second. However, actual configurations, engineering, cooling approaches, and equipment will be determined in collaboration with customers. The company believes that factory-built, repeatable structures could help address the speed, cost, and labor challenges that are hindering traditional data center construction.
By leveraging its experience in modular construction, BOXABL aims to offer a solution that can be deployed faster and more efficiently than conventional building methods. The company is now seeking engagement with data center developers, hyperscalers, colocation providers, equipment manufacturers, and other partners interested in contracting BOXABL to design and manufacture custom modular structures. Notably, there is no assurance that any agreement will be reached or that any Server Pod or similar product will be built.
BOXABL, headquartered in North Las Vegas, has raised over $230 million from more than 50,000 investors since its inception in 2017. Its flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot studio unit that unfolds on-site in under an hour. The company also offers the smaller 120-square-foot Baby Box and is developing stackable and connectable modules for larger residential applications. BOXABL began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “BXBL” on July 20, 2026, following its business combination with FG Merger II Corp.
The Server Pod concept represents a strategic diversification for BOXABL, moving beyond residential construction into the high-growth technology infrastructure market. While still in the concept stage, the initiative demonstrates the company's ambition to apply its innovative manufacturing approach to new sectors. Investors and industry observers will be watching to see if BOXABL can translate this concept into concrete partnerships and production deals.
