Blende Silver Corp. (TSX.V: BAG) (OTC: BAGGF) announced it has received a five-year Class 3 Quartz Mining Land Use Approval from the Yukon Department of Energy, Mines and Resources for its 100%-owned Blende Silver-Zinc-Lead Project. The approval, effective July 13, 2026, and valid through July 12, 2031, covers all 260 quartz claims and permits diamond drilling, camp facilities for up to 50 persons, an airstrip, and road construction.
Andrew H. Rees, President and CEO, stated that the permit provides "regulatory certainty to plan and execute sustained, multi-season drill programs" at what is described as the largest carbonate-hosted silver-zinc-lead deposit in Yukon. The approval de-risks the project, allowing the company to advance exploration aggressively toward resource growth.
The Blende Project hosts significant mineral resources, with a 2021 estimate reporting indicated resources of 6.7 million tonnes grading 130 g/t silver, 3.2% zinc, and 1.1% lead, and inferred resources of 4.5 million tonnes at similar grades. The deposit is located in the Keno Hill silver district, a historic high-grade silver producing area. The company plans to use the five-year window to conduct sustained exploration, including drilling, supported by the permitted airstrip and camp infrastructure.
Blende Silver acknowledges the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun, on whose traditional territory the project is located, and commits to responsible exploration and reclamation. The approval includes conditions for wildlife, heritage, and environmental protection.
