Atlas Lithium Corporation (NASDAQ: ATLX) has reaffirmed that its 100%-owned and fully permitted Neves Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is on track to commence commercial production of lithium oxide concentrate in the fourth quarter of 2027. The project, which is a vertically integrated mining and processing complex, is designed to produce approximately 150,000 tonnes annually. Notably, written product interest from multiple companies already totals more than three times the planned production capacity, indicating strong market demand for lithium.
The Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for the Neves Project projects a 145% after-tax internal rate of return (IRR) and an 11-month payback period, with operating costs estimated at $489 per tonne. These figures underscore the project's economic viability and its potential to generate significant returns for Atlas Lithium shareholders. The company also reported progress on detailed engineering, project management, construction, earthworks, and electromechanical work, with partner contracts finalized at or below DFS budget levels, ensuring the project remains financially disciplined.
The Neves operation is expected to generate more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in Brazil's Jequitinhonha Valley, contributing to regional economic development. Atlas Lithium holds approximately 557 square kilometers of mineral rights across Brazilian lithium districts, positioning it as a key player in the global lithium supply chain. The company intends to expand Neves' industrial capacity and develop additional processing facilities across its broader project portfolio, further solidifying its market presence.
The company's focus on execution is evident in its progress across multiple fronts. With the DFS demonstrating robust economics and demand outstripping supply, Atlas Lithium is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing lithium market, driven by the global transition to electric vehicles and renewable energy storage. The Neves Project's timely advancement is crucial for meeting the rising demand for lithium, and Atlas Lithium's adherence to its timeline reinforces its reliability as a future supplier.
