AQUINAS SENIOR LIVING, INC., a provider of tech-enabled senior care, announced the expansion of its resident safety ecosystem powered by Teton's proactive care platform across its Pennsylvania portfolio. Following a successful deployment at Heritage Springs Memory Care in Montoursville, the company launched the system at its Wynwood House communities in State College and Centre County, achieving 99.8% resident and family adoption.
The Teton platform uses passive optical sensors installed in resident rooms that require no wearables, manual calibration, or charging. The system processes movement data locally, ensuring privacy by not streaming live video or capturing audio. Care teams receive safety signals and anonymized clips when needed. The platform is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 certified.
Teton's research, analyzing more than 2,000 falls across four countries, found that measurable signals such as nighttime movement patterns, sleep disruption, and changes in respiration consistently precede falls by hours or days, allowing care teams to intervene before incidents occur. The technology integrates into clinical workflows without adding administrative burden.
As part of the expansion, one of Aquinas's Pennsylvania facilities is serving as the official Beta test site for the integrated E-call resident call system. This technology combines traditional assistance requests with the Teton dashboard, unifying fall detection and manual requests into a single interface to eliminate alarm fatigue and prioritize critical needs in real time.
The rollout timeline includes: November 2025, Heritage Springs achieved 100% adoption; April 1, 2026, Wynwood House State College went live; April 8, 2026, Wynwood House Nittany Valley went live; and May 2026, the platform is scheduled for adoption at the Lewisburg community.
“What we saw in Montoursville was the proof of concept; what we are seeing today in State College and Centre County is proof of scale with near universal adoption,” said Stephen J. Schmid, President and CEO of Aquinas Senior Living. “Our residents and their families aren't just accepting this technology - they are embracing it.”
Jim Burnham, Chief Operating Officer, added, “By integrating Teton's computer-vision AI with our new E-call resident response system, we are moving away from disparate 'point solutions' toward a truly unified ecosystem.”
Katie Grant, President, U.S., Teton, said, “The reality of moving care from reactive to proactive is that it goes beyond operational gains, it changes the quality of life for residents. A fall that doesn't happen, a hospitalization avoided, a family member who sleeps better at night knowing their loved one is safe.”
Aquinas Senior Living's mission is to enhance resident well-being through compassionate care and innovative technology. The company is redefining safety and quality standards in senior living across the Mid-Atlantic region.
