Andina Copper Reports Outstanding Drill Intercepts From Second Hole of Maiden Diamond Drilling Program

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has reported outstanding drill intercepts from the second hole of its maiden diamond drilling program at the Cobrasco copper-molybdenum project in Choco, Colombia. Following recent high-grade intersections from drillhole CDH003, results from CDH004 have returned further strong mineralization, reinforcing the potential for a globally significant deposit.

Drillhole CDH004, completed to a depth of 900.25 meters, intercepted multiple phases of porphyry and breccia units. The interval from 579 to 686 meters contained the strongest copper grades, associated with intensely fractured magmatic-hydrothermal breccias, averaging 0.75% Cu, including a peak 2-meter assay of 1.70% Cu. Sporadic gold mineralization up to 1.06 g/t supports the possibility of a gold-rich intrusive phase within the system. The results are detailed in the company's corporate presentation.

Drillhole CDH005, designed to expand the mineralized footprint to the southwest, was completed to 934 meters and logged strong copper mineralization, with assays pending. Step-out drillhole CDH006 is underway, targeting large extensions of the system. The company plans to mobilize a second drill rig to expedite exploration.

President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen commented: 'Following recent results from CDH003, the wide intercepts of high-grade copper mineralization reported in CDH004 further validate the size, scale and grade of the Cobrasco system. We see the potential for a globally significant deposit(s) at Cobrasco.'

The Cobrasco project is located along the Andean porphyry belt, a premier copper-producing region. Andina Copper holds discoveries in Argentina, Colombia, and Chile. The company's common shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol ANDC.
