Andina Copper Reports High-Grade Porphyry Mineralization at Cobrasco Project, Extending Known Footprint

Andina Copper Corporation announced drill results from hole CDH006 at the Cobrasco Project in Colombia, confirming continuity of high-grade copper-molybdenum mineralization and expanding the known footprint to 950 x 525 meters, with mineralization remaining open in all directions.

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) reported assay results from drillhole CDH006 at the Cobrasco Project in Chocó, Colombia, which intersected 486 meters at 0.42% copper, 51 ppm molybdenum, and 1.20 g/t silver, including a higher-grade interval of 232 meters at 0.68% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 2.0 g/t silver from 38 meters depth. This step-out hole, collared approximately 400 meters northwest of previous drill pads, confirms the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Central mineralization system.

The results follow high-grade intersections from earlier holes CDH003 to CDH005 and demonstrate that every drillhole completed to date has returned significant porphyry copper-molybdenum mineralization from near-surface to depths of approximately 600 meters. The known mineralization footprint now covers a lateral extent of approximately 950 x 525 meters and remains open in all directions. Two additional step-out holes, CDH007 and CDH008, have been completed from the same drill platform to test northeast and north extensions, with assays pending.

President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen stated that systematic scout drilling will continue to define the limits of mineralization and test newly developed targets. The company is preparing a new program of surface mapping and geochemical sampling to run concurrently with drilling, and plans to mobilize a second drill rig to support definition of new targets and in-fill drilling across widely spaced scout holes.

Drillhole CDH006 (azimuth 225°, dip -60°, depth 898.90 meters) tested a southwest section parallel to holes CDH001 and CDH004. Lithologies intersected include felsic porphyries of rhyodacite composition, with mineralized intervals related to chalcopyrite and bornite in intensely fractured rocks. Hydrothermal alteration progresses from strong argillic in the upper portions to phyllic and grey-green-sericite (GGS) associated with the bulk of mineralization. Structural controls are evident, with a low-angle fault at 46 meters introducing high copper and molybdenum grades (sample G517536: 4.6% Cu, 1495 ppm Mo over 2 meters). A magmatic brecciation zone from 38 to 270 meters hosts the highest grades. A faulted contact at 808 meters marks the end of magmatic-hydrothermal brecciation and the start of a polymictic intrusive breccia with lower mineralization.
