Elementera AI Inc., a company specializing in helping brands gain visibility in AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, announced a new angel investment from a Principal AI Scientist at Amazon who works on large language model research. The investment underscores the growing importance of answer engine optimization (AEO) as users shift from traditional search queries to AI-powered answers.
The investor, who has tracked Elementera Co-founder and CEO Maziar Gomrokchi's work since his early days as a PhD researcher, cited the technical strength of the founding team and the foresight that AI visibility will become increasingly critical. "Elementera is one of the few companies truly built for this moment," the investor stated. "The team combines deep AI research experience with a clear understanding of where search, discovery, and brand visibility are heading. I believe their Lenz and Prizm products are positioned to play a leading role in the AI visibility market over the next three to five years."
Gomrokchi traces the roots of Elementera to a 2016 conference, ICML, where he observed the early reshaping of the technology industry by deep learning. "Google, Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI were all there, hosting events and recruiting researchers," Gomrokchi recalled. "I got a few summer offers out of that conference, including one from OpenAI, which at the time was still a small team working on open AI models. Looking back, that early work was a preview of what later became models like GPT and ChatGPT."
Elementera's Lenz and Prizm products help brands understand and improve how they are interpreted, described, and cited across AI answer engines. The company focuses on generative engine optimization (GEO), a shift from traditional search engine optimization (SEO) to address the changing landscape of AI-driven discovery. As AI systems increasingly influence consumer decisions, Elementera's tools aim to ensure brands remain visible and trusted.
The investment from a leading AI researcher at Amazon signals market validation for Elementera's approach. With a team of AI veterans from Microsoft, Shopify, IBM, Mila, and UC Berkeley, the company is positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for AI visibility solutions.
