The 2026 (27th) Hainan Island Carnival will take place from July 18 to August 18, offering a month-long celebration across China's tropical island. With the theme 'Vibrant Free Trade Port, Charming Hainan Island,' the event features more than 50 distinctive events blending ocean activities, rainforest exploration, cultural heritage, cuisine, and nighttime light shows. This year's carnival introduces a 'whole island as a carnival' concept, breaking free from traditional scenic spot limitations.
Highlights include water sports in Sanya and Lingshui, beach music festivals, and island art exhibitions. Wanning and Qionghai will focus on outdoor pursuits such as surfing and cycling.
