Exterior amenities such as an electrical hookup, camp-side awning, picnic set, and a vintage Coleman stove enhance its camping functionality. Inside, the Birch plywood interior is faithfully preserved, complete with a functional kitchenette, folding table, spice rack, water pump, and ice box. The tan-patterned cloth and beige vinyl upholstery evoke a warm, retro atmosphere, and a children's hammock stretches across the front compartment for additional sleeping space.
Practical updates, including a 2024 steering column replacement and updated wiring for turn signals, brake lights, and headlights, make the camper safe and reliable for modern roads. The cab features clean white sheet metal with classic tan upholstery and a parcel shelf for storage. Ron Sturgeon, founder of the DFW Car & Toy Museum, remarked on the vehicle's appeal: "There's something magical about these old VW campers.
